Objectives of the Research and Development Cell at CHRIST (Deemed to be University):
Establishing a robust organizational structure with role-based functions within the Research and Development Cell. This includes formulating comprehensive research policies for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), identifying thrust areas of research, and forming cluster groups or consortia of researchers to focus on specific research domains.
Creating enabling provisions in research policies to streamline the recruitment of research personnel, procurement of equipment, and financial management. Providing adequate autonomy to Principal Investigators and ensuring the dissemination of research outcomes to stakeholders and the public.
Establishing a special purpose vehicle to promote researchers and innovators within the university. Identifying potential collaborators from industry, research organizations, academic institutions, and other stakeholders for cooperative partnerships and synergistic collaborations.
Acting as a liaison between researchers and relevant research funding agencies. Providing guidance in the preparation and submission of project proposals, as well as overseeing adherence to timelines post-sanctioning of grants.
Ensuring better coordination among other cells and centers dealing with University-Industry Inter Linkage, Incubation, Innovation, Entrepreneurship Development, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
Maintaining an Institutional Research Information System to share the status of ongoing and completed research projects/programs, expertise, and resources. Utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to prepare a database of in-house experts for industrial consultancy and services.
Engaging the services of active faculty and scientists in research capacity building of talented young minds. Promoting mobility of researchers across institutions and R&D Labs to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration.
Serving as a nodal center for ideation and conceptualization of research topics/themes through workshops and training programs. Ensuring integrity and ethical practices in research activities, including clearance of bioethical committees where required.
