When students opt to study in a foreign country, it turns into a journey with myriad hues. Our University has students from all over the world. To orient them to the environment which is culturally diverse yet harmonious, counsellors work closely with the International office.
The Centre aims to build a warm and congenial atmosphere for the foreign and NRI students, and support them when they are homesick or have language difficulties.
The counselors hold an orientation session to share institutional and academic policies. This meeting is also a networking opportunity for the students of all Schools.
Counsellors also reach out to them by participating in their fellowship gatherings so that they feel comfortable to approach the counsellors in times of need. Counsellors work individually with these students to ensure that they understand assessment patterns, teaching methodologies and the expected code of conduct on campus; guiding them in local etiquette and giving them pointers that would help them even outside campus. Research scholars are also volunteer to mentor where required.
The Centre firmly believes that NRI/International counselling services greatly impact and enhance the competency and potential of the student by supporting and empowering them during the course of their academic tenure.
