Music is an artform which enables expression throughout all areas of the experiences psychology scientifically pursues. The Music and Psychology programme provides an integrated understanding of both disciplines. The programme aims to develop musical, artistic and psychological skills in practical ways to build experience 

grounded in scientific backing with familiarity in emerging technologies. Students who have secured 75% marks and above in the first six semesters are eligible to qualify for a 4-year degree (Honours / Honours with Research) in Psychology, or may be eligible to pursue an Honours degree in Music.

With a background in psychology the students can work as an assistant psychologist or in areas such as nursing, social work, mental health work, services for individuals with disabilities, mentoring young offenders and work in social services is vital.
A graduate has the opportunity to work as educators in schools, colleges, community centers and private institutions teaching music and psychology
Graduates of music and psychology can either work for a performing arts company or practice as a professional.

International Category

produce evidence of passing the qualifying examination in English medium or have IELTS 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5 or TOEFL (paper) 550, TOEFL (computer) of 213 or TOEFL (IBT) of 79 scores
Intensive Certificate course in English Language (Full Time) conducted from March to May each year or One Semester Certificate course in English Language (Part Time) conducted after regular class hours from June to December.

Note: The International Student category fee structure is binding for the full duration of the programme and cannot be transferred /changed in between.

Candidates from the above listed categories having pursued Indian Educational qualification and who may have applied under the Indian States Category will have to pay the International Student Category Fee. The decision of the Admission committee is final.

Candidates seeking admission through International Student category (Foreign Nationals/PIO/OCI) will have a separate application process, with the option to apply for any programme at Christ University.

Students are welcome to apply under the Non-Resident Indian category for the programmes offered by the University. Application process is common for all category of applicants

Students who fall under any of the following classifications can apply under NRI Student category and be liable to pay the fees applicable to the category for the entire duration of the programme

Admission to all programmes is based on academic performance and CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Selection Process. Candidates should submit the final results of class 12 on or before August 30th of the admission year.

Applicants must read through the Eligibility, Important Dates, Selection Process, Fee Structure and other details under the preferred programme given on our website before proceeding with the Application Process.

Admission Process - 2025

  1. Results and Admission Process
    1. Results Announcement: The selection process results will be available on the date mentioned in the Important Dates section on the university’s website.
    2. Results Access: Results can be accessed at this link: https://espro.christuniversity.in/Application/
    3. E-Offer of Admission: Selected candidates will receive an E-Offer of admission, which will be valid until the date specified in the offer.
    4. Provisional Admission: Admission is provisional and subject to university rules. Candidates must meet the specific eligibility criteria for their program.
    5. Fee Payment: Selected candidates must pay the fees using Net Banking/Online Banking or Credit Card. They should also download the offer of admission and choose a date and time to complete the admission process in person with a parent at the selected campus.
    To process admission:
    1. Select Date and Time: Choose your preferred date and time from the available options.
    2. Campus Admission: Admission must be processed at the campus where the offer of admission is made
    3. Admission has to be processed as per point (1). Admission will not be processed without the presence of the candidate along with mandatory ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS and one full set of black and white photocopies (xerox) of all the documents mentioned below (MANDATORY):
    • Marks Card: Class 10 and Class 11 final report or Class 12 Board result (Mandatory).
    • Transfer Certificate (TC): of class 12th from the last qualified institution (Mandatory) must be submitted on or before August 30th or as announced by the office of admissions of the admission year.
    • Migration Certificate (MIG): of class 12th from the last qualified institution (applicable for all candidates except Karnataka state board applicants) (Mandatory) must be submitted on or before August 30th or as announced by the office of admissions of the admission year.
    • Two Passport Size Photographs: Formal dress, white background.
    • Two Copies of Payment Acknowledgment Receipt: From application status link https://espro.christuniversity.in/Application/
    • Valid ID Proof: Aadhar, PAN, etc.
    • Additional Documents for International Candidates:
    1. Passport and Visa Details (Mandatory)
    2. PIO/OCI Card holders: Have to produce a copy of the PIO / OCI card whichever is applicable (Mandatory).
    3. Medical Fitness Certificate (MFC): From any recognized medical practitioner certified by the Medical Council of India
    4. Resident Permit (RP): (If available while applying)
     
    Make sure to have all the original documents and a full set of black and white photocopies (xerox).
     
    1. Document Submission:
      • All mandatory documents must be submitted for verification.
      • All pending original documents (for exams in Feb-April 2025) must be submitted on or before August 30th or as announced by the office of admissions of the admission year
      • Failure to submit pending documents will result in termination of admission.
    2. Bank Account Requirement:
      • All admitted students must open an account at South Indian Bank, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Branch as part of the admission process.
      • Relevant ID proof (Aadhar Card and Pan Card) is required.
    3. University ID Card:
      • The ID card is a smart card that functions as an ID, ATM card, and access card for various facilities.
      • All transactions within the campus, including fee payments, will be processed through this card.
    4. International Students:
      • Must register with the Foreigner Regional Registration Officer (FRRO/FRO) within 14 working days of admission or arrival in Bengaluru.
    5. Commencement of Academic Year:
      • The start date for the academic year 2025 will be communicated during the admission process.
    6. Caution:
      • The university does not authorize any third party to conduct the selection process or offer admissions.
      • Be wary of unauthorized SMS/Emails promising admissions.
    7. Bank Loan Assistance:
      • Admitted students can request a recommendation letter for a bank loan by presenting the original fee paid receipt to the Office of Admissions.
    8. Laptop:
      • Admitted students may need to purchase a laptop if required by their department.
    1. Final Decision:
      • Student allotment in the program of their choice among the various campuses located in Bangalore (Central, Kengeri, Bannerghatta, and Yeshwantpur), Lavasa (Pune), and Delhi NCR Campus of CHRIST University shall be at the sole discretion of the Management. The decision of the Admission Committee is final.

2025 UG & PG Selection Process

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – SELECTION PROCESS 2025

  1. If the entrance test for the 2 or more applications is on the same date and at the same time, you will write one test and the test score will be transferred to the other applications.
  2. If the tests are on the same date but at different times or on different dates, the test has to be taken for each application separately.
  3. All other processes (SA_MP_PI) will have to be done separately for each application number.
  4. Admit Card of all the selection processess will be updated Two or Three Days before the slection process dates

ELIGIBILIY CRITERIA:

Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:

AUDITION GUIDELINES:
1.    Apply as per guidelines stipulated to get the E-admit card
2.    The Department of Western Music, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) currently offers practical specialisation only in Voice and Piano. Thus, we only accept candidates who are willing to specialise in either voice OR piano. Please note the guidelines below:

•    Before attending the LIVE auditions and offline interview at the university, the candidate is to record a video of themselves performing TWO contrasting pieces: preferably from the western art traditions one technique-focused, another musicality-focused, according to the following guidelines:

Guidelines for Vocal auditions:
Submit a performance of two vocal works:


•    One of the vocalizes of Vaccai (any of the list of choice – Intervals of Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth)
•    Any simple Arias / Art songs. 
•    Please find below the sample list of arias and composers for vocal audition submission:

•    PLEASE NOTE: Additional Requirements for Voice:

  1. A certificate from a certified ENT(MBBS) / phoniatric (no more than 6 months old) that shows a healthy throat / vocal condition.
  2. It is preferred that applicants to the programme have at least some experience in reading western notation.

Guidelines for Piano auditions:
•    Ideally any 2 Western classical piano pieces of the candidates choice.
•    Sample list of composers: J.S. Bach, D. Scarlatti, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Chopin, Liszt, Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert, Debussy, Ravel, Satie, to name a few. 

  1. The candidate is free to choose piano works by any of the western classical composers of their choice. The list above is only for reference. 

•    It is preferred that applicants to the programme have at least some experience in reading western notation.

Prerequisite Musical Knowledge
1.    Read western music notation in treble and bass clefs.
2.    Scribe western music notation with accuracy. 
3.    Name notes of all major; natural, harmonic and melodic minor scales.
4.    Identify diatonic intervals and triads aurally. (Preferred)
5.    Basic conducting patterns: 2/4; 3/4; 4/4; 6/8; 9/8 & 12/8. (Preferred)

Recommended Performance & Musical Background
1.    Grade 6 practical certificate from any recognised music accreditation (ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, AMEB, etc.).
2.    Grade 5 theory certificate from any recognised music accreditation (ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, AMEB, etc.).
